Tavern In Surfside

We are so happy Tavern in Surfside opened! We love the atmosphere and the food is great, but the best reason of all is the bartender Rachel! She’s fantastic. Always remembers what we’re drinking and has them to us before we order. She’s a pleasure to talk to and to watch work the bar. We know from experience people come to see her. She’s a great asset!!!

To the staff & bartenders... we visited tonight for the 1st time. With that, we also recognize that restaurants & other businesses across the strand are short staffed. So, knowing this - we waited patiently & we were greeted with a "HI"... the food was good & drinks just fine (I missed my "house scotch" - but was told that it's coming soon).... but, I wanted to comment about what we saw...

"how can people be so rude & impatient to the bartenders & wait staff?!"... we observed & overheard not so nice comments being made about the staff... :-( The bartender (who is also one of the shift managers) kindly said... "we ask that if you cannot be patient or kind to our overworked staff - that your business be taken elsewhere"... the couple paid & left. It was well posted on the front door - "please be kind to our staff - we are experiencing busy times & we again, ask that you be patient...".

for us... we knew this - we were patient... & in turn, we got a smile & a thank you. We will be back...

This was our first visit to Tavern in Surfside and I wanted to take a moment and share our experience. We live across the street in Queens Harbour and are so glad this restaurant is open because of convenience..... Upon arrival, the Hostess was quick to welcome and seat us. Our server was Jordan. He was very attentive and eager to share information about the menu. We ordered drinks and appetizers which were very good. I had the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich on a brioche bun which was also very good. Thank you for a very enjoyable experience. We will be back........

This was my first visit to the Tavern and it was so good! I ordered the burger and fries. The burger was a good size and perfectly done! This wasn't a performed patty either. I'm not usually a fry eater but they were crispy and you get a good portion. This is somewhere I'll be going to often!

Don’t listen to the 1 star review, there’s always that one person that complains because they can’t be happy.

This place is what it is and is amazing for the type of place. Super friendly, great service, and amazing food!

Do yourself a favor - try this place out. If you pick a busy day and time, don’t be shocked if it’s busy.
