Pizza Hyena

Mixed experience. Pros: (1) hip and modern beach atmosphere, bar and dining right outside and nicely decorated inside. (2) fresh ingredients and healthy / interesting combo choices with creative names. (3) fast friendly service (4) good beer and cider selection, loved they had some microbrews; Cons (1) wings were a little dry & overcooked, but sauce was good. (2) pizza was a bit dry and lacked any particular seasoning or flavor outside of basic ingredients, meaning the red sauce was a little thin and generic (I asked for extra on side which did help, but not cure. (3) Food wasn't particularly memorable tasting, things like the sauce lacked a custom signature move. (4) Just a tad expensive for personal pizzas, but I was okay with it to some degree because of fresh ingredients. Will try again, mostly for atmosphere.

Great service! Great tasking pizza! If you want to get away from traditional pizza, but have that pizza craving! This is the place to eat! They have the best tasting pizza non traditional style! The staff is very friendly, drinks are cold! You can dine in or eat on the open patio! If you are in town stop by and have some great tasting pizza!

Holy Hyena. (Cow doesn’t do it justice) this place ROCKS. Even on a Sunday night. Fantastic food. Welcoming staff. Tyler was our bartender and gave us the best recommendations and food options. Live music was probably the best band we have seen in town. All around great experience. Wish there was a Pizza Hyena back home!

I have heard such GREAT things about this unique and delicious pizza at Pizza Hyena, so of course I had to try it, and I was not disappointed! The appetizers were beyond awesome! And the pizza was some of the BEST pizza I’ve had!

The staff was awesome and always made sure you were taken care of.

We visit Surfside every year and this is the first time we have ever eaten here. We are big cooks at home and it’s hard to compare when going out.... BUT this was EXCELLENT wood fired pizza! We were so impressed. It took a little while to actually get our 3 pizzas, but they made up for it by bringing us a free cheese breadsticks appetizer which was also delicious. That is great service right there!! We will definitely make this a must every year when we come here. Keep up the good work and service!
