Gwen & Franny's Fried Chicken

Amazing fresh fried chicken, collards, and cornbread... worth the super short drive off of 95. Small, but worth it. Good southern meal.

This place is great. The Chicken was very delicious and nicely fried and very tender. The Mac and cheese was good, and the people who work there were very nice. If you are in the area definitely try this place out!!

Traveled through the Carolina's....from Florida to Connecticut. We always like to look up "mama/pop" spots so we found this and seen that it had decent reviews. We order baked mac, collard greens, fried chicken, and a fried whiting sandwich. My husband enjoyed the fish sandwich. Said "some bodies grandad just caught this fish!" Lol...it tastes fresh to him. Fried chicken was nice and crispy! I enjoyed it. The other stuff was typical. My opinion needed more flavor but wasn't bad. Seemed like a local spot....as I witnessed people come in and out greeted by name????.

Food was delicious. It was our first time but hopefully not the last. Chicken, pork chops and fish were cooked to order and the sides of candied sweet potatoes, collard greens and corn bread were some of the best. Small quaint place but was crowded while we were there. The locals were there. One sign to look for when traveling is where do the local people eat. Gwen and Franny's is a spot where they eat. Not too expensive either.

We have been coming for over 7 years and their food is still as amazing as the first time trying it. The food is So Freaking Good!! And we love everyone who works there, they are all super sweet and will make sure your happy.
We normally call in our order and once we say chicken fingers plate they ask if this is Jacob, they know us just by our order and always getting dinner.

We can't say enough about Gwen and Franny's except everyone needs a little in their life, if you haven't tried it you are definitely missing some good home cooked southern food!!
