Wow!!! This place is a must go to!!!! The fried oysters are hands down the best you will get in all of the midlands area. I have been here a few times now and each and every time the food served me has been absolutely delicious. The oysters are plump and huge and are fried to absolute perfection... The shrimp and scallops are also "off the chain" scrumptious. The GM John has been on site on all of my visits and he is quite welcoming to all guests. I have personally witnessed him on each of my visits not only helping the cooks and ensuring that all the plates are
"perfectly plated" but also and very impressively visiting all tables to ensure everyone is happy with both food and service. This is certainly an added exemplary touch to this dining experience. I for sure will be a regular here! I sincerely wish the Oak Grove Fish House nothing but success! I am absolutely thrilled to finally have a local superb seafood restaurant to dine!????????????
The food was good, but there are definitely kinks to work out. The sweet tea taste was very inconsistent and some of the shrimp were small, but tasted good. Since the shrimp and grits we're supposed to be modeled after the Blue Marlin's recipe (sister restaurant), there may need to be a revisit of this claim because they were good but not quite to the standard I would expect of the Blue Marlin. All in all, like I said before, good food with a few things that need some polish, but that is to be expected of a new restaurant. I am glad to have another seafood restaurant in Lexington.
I went here with my family for dinner. It was DELICIOUS! It was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. Even my kids chicken fingers were great. Our server was friendly and I liked the interior. I'm not sure where the negative reviews came from but this place is awesome!
We were there about 12:45 today for lunch. Absolutely fantastic. Exactly what I expect for a family/camp style seafood restaurant. Having lived in the Low Country, we know. Catfish stew was delicious. One oyster platter and a seafood platter with shrimp, oysters, and scallops. Very fresh and cooked perfectly. Oysters were "selects" and large. (Another Lexington restaurant need to learn what "select" means). Great fries and slaw. The Key Lime Pie and the Peach Cobbler were yummy and huge portions as well. The staff was friendly and prompt. Finally a seafood restaurant in the Cola area I'm very happy with!
