Sumo Japanese Steak House

Jovial atmosphere, not really different from the tried and true hibachi tropes, but the staff is great. Excellent service with a smile. I came here after graduating from University of South Carolina. Overall it's a good experience and will certainly leave a great taste in your mouth

Will come back again! Did not disappointed at all. Steak is extremely flavorful and cooked to perfection, so was the chicken. Wife had the shrimp and was very pleased. Good job Sumo!

I loved Sumo; their chefs were always fun and their food delicious.

However on our recent visit my entire group of friends and I were disappointed when we realized we all ended up tipping almost 40%, each.

We weren’t made aware that having a group would incur a service charge, since hibachi locations seat an entire side regardless if you were to come in as a full group or two at a time.

The service charge is also listed as a line item so it’s easy to overlook.

Great food, nice, caring management. Highly recommended. Always consistent. That's a rare thing for a restaurant. Feel like family dining here.
