I’m from Florida and came up to visit some family and friends for Thanksgiving. Four of us went to Cola’s for dinner and it was my first time eating at the restaurant. The food was simply delicious! We had the southern fried deviled eggs for an appetizer and I had the shrimp and grits for dinner. I also had the Caesar salad which was ok. I wish it had more dressing and less iceberg lettuce in it, but it was sufficient nonetheless. The food was well worth the price and the staff was friendly and attentive. Definitely a place I will visit again!
Good atmosphere, good customer service. However, some of the menu items seemed a little overpriced. Like $20 for a burger. If money is not an issue, it's a good place to have a drink or dinner. Good wine and cocktail selection, decent beer selection although nothing on tap.
I drove from Charleston to meet my lady for dinner Friday night. Cola's was recommended by a good friend and Columbia local. I was originally told they were booked for the night but to call back and ask for the GM. Mrs Hughes was able to make a reservation for me at the perfect time. Food and staff was excellent!
What drove me to check out this restaurant during our visit to Columbia was the fact that it's in a restored 1930's RC Cola Bottling Plant. And they paid homage to that in their name. I love little things like that. Not to mention the menu sounded dope. We went early on a Monday and were seated right away, in fact, I think we were the first customer's in. They do have a lot of different staff members that wear different hats (meaning we were greeted by an assistant who brought us bread and water, another member who brought us beverages, and a third who actually took our order). So that fine dining atmosphere, even though it's also pretty chill.
