Poogan's Southern Kitchen – Forest Acres

This was my first time. I had heard that the Bloody Marys were good and it was not only good but awesome! My bartender Tori was excellent! The bar itself was very nice with granite type counter tops. Also check out the Five Dollar food specials they have on Happy Hour. Great staff and great mgt. One of my new favs! Check it out!

What a treat! So glad I tried Poogan's Southern Kitchen - Forest Acres. The staff was so welcoming and helpful. Ramsy was the sweetest waitress and helped me make my selection.
We had the fried green tomatoes and omgggg they were so yummy! We started eating them and then said these are too good not to take a picture. So please excuse the half eaten plate.
I got the shrimp and grits which were good too. Not the best I've had in Columbia but will definitely get again. I also ordered the collards but will probably not order those again as they were way too salty for my taste.
My friend ordered the mahi mahiand fries and she loved both.

The lavender martini was delish!!!

Food was okay , service was great , we had a party of 12 and they accommodated us with no problem. I got the fried green tomatoes, and the chicken n waffles with a side of collards and Mac and cheese , I also tried my friends salmon and shrimp and grits both were good. My meal was just ok not exceptional but satisfactory, I would return if friends wanted to go again but I doubt I would return in my own volition, I just wasn’t blown away. But it was good enough.

The mixed reviews had me nervous but we had a great experience!! Seated by Britt and served by Taylor…both were great! Taylor was patient while we asked questions, he was super attentive and personable. The food was delicious and everything arrived hot. If I had any room for improvement it would be the timing of food arrival. Our entrees arrived about 2 minutes after our appetizers. And the lavender martini is wonderful but it felt overpriced for a glass that was a little over 1/3 full. My family enjoyed the service and food so we will be back.
