The food was good and the service was superb! Our waitress Ms Ilona is the best!! And thank you again for the Mother's Day card!!
Ilona was our server this morning, we came in right at opening and she was happy to not only serve us but give us an amazing breakdown of the menu as we were just coming into town and have never been here before. Cold brewed coffee and shrimp and grits are HIGHLY recommended. Great place to check out while in town.
Ruby Sunshine, located at 2030 Devine St., Suite 101, Columbia, SC 29205, hostess greets you with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Our breakfast adventure commenced with the Fried Green Tomatoes, adorned with lettuce, red tomatoes, remoulade, and bacon onion jam—a delightful starter my wife absolutely adored.
Moving on to the main course, we indulged in a variety of delectable dishes. The Sweet Heat Chicken & French Toast Bites, featuring fried chicken and fresh strawberries tossed in Mike's Hot Honey glaze over French toast bites, offered a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors. Meanwhile, the Classic Buttermilk Pancakes, accompanied by crispy bacon, were wonderful with their fluffy texture and irresistible taste. We also savored Two Scrambled Eggs with cheese and sampled the Biscuits and Gravy. While the gravy was exceptional, boasting rich flavor and smooth texture, the biscuit fell short, as it was overly hard on the outside. Despite this minor setback, the overall breakfast experience was delightful.
Would we return to Ruby Sunshine? Absolutely! Its inviting ambiance, friendly service, and delicious breakfast offerings make it a place worth revisiting. Plus, the bonus of a military discount makes it even more appealing.
We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident and I’m glad we did. The server Brittany was amazing! She was very friendly and kept checking on us to make sure we were ok even though it was busy. The food was really good. The hot honey chicken sandwich was amazing. You can tell the beignets and biscuits were homemade with just the first bite. Even the burger was really good. The drinks were amazing as well. We ordered a Bloody Mary, a Lavender Paloma and a Morning Margarita and they were all good, the bartender really did a good job and balancing the flavor of the lavender in the drink. Next time I am in Columbia SC, I will definitely eat here again.
The wait time was fast. We were quoted an hour but were able to be seated in less than 45 mins.
The food looks presentation is great. My biscuit was raw in the middle, but the waitress didn't seem to care. She just told me they are usually excellent.
I had the Omelette, grits and biscuit with a spiced latte with oat milk.
