Drake House Restaurant

I'm torn about this place. Was my first time eating here. Due to it being mother's day, they charged 16.50 for the buffet. My husband and I didn't ask about the price because I imagined it would be like golden corral or some other country style buffet place.

The service was decent and we had our drinks filled twice. We ate outside, which was nice because it was super hot inside the house. My son enjoyed looking at the fish they have where the front porch is at.

The macaroni pie was decent and the fried chicken was very good. But I had to load everything down with salt to bring out the flavor. I won't be eating there again, but I'm sure it's a great place for some. I just wasn't feeling the price hike. If the food had been outstanding, I wouldn't be feeling some kind of way for paying 50 bucks for two adults and a child to eat.

REAL homecooking!!! Quality beats any other all-you-can-eat buffet. Fair price for amazing food. Just wish they had an option to get bigger biscuits. If visiting Landrum, this is a must stop!

Food was great. Home cooking and friendly staff. Can't wait to go back in the spring and eat on the patio.

We literally stumbled upon this place. I am so thrilled that we did and we are already planning our frequent return!!
My grandfather had a Fried Chicken restaurant for 45 years; and folks far and wide thought it was the best they’d ever eaten. My mother could duplicate it but I have never been able to do so; and she hasn’t made it for well over 20 years. This fried chicken is easily every bit as good as my grandfather and mother’s!! Tender, juicy with a crispy skin and just the right amount of everything.
The fried okra, squash casserole, and the creamed corn are to die for, and the sweet tea reminds me of my grandmother’s!!!
Oh!! And make sure you make room for Chocolate Cake and Coconut Pie!!!
What an amazing food experience!! I need a nap!!!
