Prime Restaurant and Whiskey Lounge

I'll start by saying this place has a ton of potential. It's in the former Peddler location and has undergone some nice restoration. It's a much more upscale, contemporary vibe. We didn't have a chance to go into the whiskey lounge, but it looked like someone was setting up party lights for some sort of event. I would like to check it out sometime, but set my expectations a touch lower.

The service staff is stellar! Everyone was very attentive and super nice. The one exception to the service would be the bartender who must have been new as the drink service was very slow. I ordered a whiskey neat... just put it in a glass... and it took long enough for our waitress to come back and update us that the bartender was still working on our drinks.

The food was pretty disappointing. The steaks were cooked properly to temp, but were flavorless. Plating did not match the atmosphere. The dried parsley sprinkled around the edge of the plate was a very 90's touch. The salad bar had browned, wilted lettuce and the bread was missing. At least when our server noticed that I was looking for something, she asked for bread from the kitchen and then came to let us know that fresh warm rolls were available. +1 again for the service staff.

One major problem that I've noticed by reading some of these reviews, is that the owner doesn't appear to take criticism well. Several replies are making excuses or saying "lots of people like our food and people have different tastes." That's not the type of owner that is engaged in making the best restaurant possible. That's how the best episodes of Kitchen Nightmares and Bar Rescue start.

TL;DR - Events in the lounge may be cool, but it wasn't open. Food is expensive for the flavor and presentation. Staff is the best attribute.

The owners are so sweet and friendly. The food is delicious, especially the Sunday Brunch which has great deals and cheap bottomless mimosas. We accidentally stayed way past closing and they never kicked us out. We didn't even realize! So sweet.

We loved everything. I got shrimp and grits that had great flavor and my wife got a ribeye and it was huge and cooked well! I saw someone say something about the cheese curds in the reviews so we got them for an app and they did not disappoint. Everything tasted homemade and thoughtful. Service was great, bartender was nice… we will be back for sure!

This place is awesome! Very laid back, casual atmosphere. The staff are so nice and accommodating. Steaks were cooked to perfection and the sides are some of the best I've ever had! Make sure to try the cheese curds also! You won't be disappointed! We'll definitely be going again and again!

I love live music, good food and great times. Not sure if the Prime has music every Friday night but last night it was a great place for all 3. I got the Fillet and it was cooked perfectly. After dinner we went downstairs to listen to some music and a after dinner drink. It was a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. The music was good, lively and fun. We will definitely be headed back.
