The Tulip Tree

We were excited to try this new restaurant. I made reservations for 6:30. When we arrived the restaurant wasn’t busy. We were seated immediately. We walked past many empty tables to be seated in the very back corner. Other couples and groups came in and were seated in the main dining room. We could not figure out why we were put in the back next to servers station. The server was fine although we had to ask for specials and for drink refills. The GM was friendly. The food was good. The braised beef was delicious. The cobbler was terrible. It was very bitter with almost no sugar. It had a thimble of ice cream on top. When the sever asked how it was we told her not good. She said they needed feedback. We did not eat it but we were still charged $11.
Overall this restaurant is good but not great. The prices are fine dining Greenville prices but it is not fine dining or Greenville. Spartanburg has a lot of great restaurants and we have many favorites. This one is not one we will add to the list.

I want to say that the atmosphere and food are fantastic! The service was impeccable. The sweet tea chicken and braised beef were to die for. I'm definitely coming back for a second helping of those greens!

What a phenomenal experience, from the service to the amazing food... if I could give them 10 stars I would! We had the Bisque and Hushpuppies then had the Braised Beef and Shrimp & Grits. The flavors of everything were amazing and so wonderfully crafted. You have to try this wonderful restaurant!!! The burnt apple crisp was incredible as well!

The Shrimp and Grits wasn't your ordinary. It was simply as authentic as you can get with the sundried tomatoes and the added bacon. Perfectly cooked grits with nice sizes shrimp to go along with it. My guest had the Braised Beef that was so tender, you could glide your fork through it. Praise goes out to the Chef. Will definitely be a regular here. Oh yeah, impeccable service to go with the nice artwork and deco.
