First time here since this location reopened as Towne Tavern. We sat at a high top in the bar. The bartender was excellent and attentive. We had a shrimp appetizer and main meal between us was fish and chips and the salmon with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Food was good, nothing wrong with it at all. Not particularly.mind blowing but a satisfactory meal.
My wife and I tried it for lunch today. Really great atmosphere, nice menu and friendly staff. We each tried the Fish & Chips, which was very good. Next time we order the fish and chips we will place one order and split it, a lot of food for the two of us. We will definitely go back and try some of there other menu items.
I'm giving them 4 stars which is giving them break because they are still in the "just opened" period and there are some bugs (not real bugs as the place is immaculate but figurative bugs) that need to be worked out. For a great dining experience, from restaurants that are $ to those that are $$$$, the devil is in the details. Small things like making sure the inside seal of the new ketchup bottle is open means something. The food was ok but way under-seasoned. French fries were tasty but limp - minor things that will get better for sure. Staff was welcoming and attentive. Restrooms were clean - and that's important!. We will go back and see how they progress as they get more services under their belt.
We had ordered take out last week which was not very good. But tonight when we dined in the manager rectified the situation. We ordered chicken fajitas, steak sandwich, mozzarella sticks and chicken wings. All were good.
I believe after watching the staff the wrinkles are straightening out. Server was tentative and polite. Happy to have something new.
Bingo was fun as well. Just give them a little time.
If you have been to any of the other Towne Taverns, then you know what to expect. Great food with a lot of choices. Give the wasabi ranch a try. As far as the physical building, they have made lots of beautiful upgrades with a fresh, clean, family atmosphere.
