Sissy's Cafe

Four of us and three had the usual burger lunch. They loved it. I had the roast beef special. A little to much for the tummy.

Sissy's was closed when we walked in; staff were mopping, cleaning and putting ingredients away.

Even so, the crew kindly reopened for two travellers who'd just traversed a rugged, 120-mile terrain with little or no dining opportunities.

We both had Issac's Favorite: slow-cooked shredded beef with beans an cheese rolled in a flour tortilla then smothered in homemade red enchilada sauce under melted cheese.
And we weren't just fed by Arturo's cooking, no we were richly rewarded and completely re-invigorated with this smooth and smoky concoction. There was nothing left on our plates.

A week later, we agree that this meal may be The Best we've had in 10 years and 14 states of backroad wandering.

My husband and I stopped there today while traveling. Yummy and filling food! The chicken in my burrito was super tender. Also we had some of their strawberry rhubarb pie, delicious 😋! So glad we found this place.

This is the best little restaurant and Food is always amazing! Don't go by Nicole Francis review if you are reading reviews (Some people are just rude and it wasn't the waitresses in this case)If you want good home cooked meal this is your place! 10 stars in my book

Ate here a couple times while traveling for work. Pretty good value for the food. There’s not a whole lot of choice when it comes to places to eat in Gregory, SD. Oddly, every mom and pop shop restaurant has Mexican on their menu… this being no exception. The American food items are all really good. I did get this burrito which was good but the meat misses the Mexican food mark. It tastes more like shredded roast beef. The enchilada sauce does hit the mark.

Service is good and food comes out in a reasonable amount of time.

Not only would I go back, I will be going back… not only due to lack of options but to try some more menu items.
