Very cozy diner with a very home-felt menu. It was busy when we went but we were still helped in a prompt manner. Redneck hash browns with gravy are the best!

A cute lil’ diner with that small town feel. Service was excellent, very friendly and prompt. The food and coffee were hot and fresh. I tried the Red Neck Hash, very tasty.
They don’t have gluten free options, but the menu items are easy to customize and the friendly staff will work with you to find a solution.
A must try for locals and tourists alike.

Spent 8 days visiting the Rapid City, and surrounding areas... went out for breakfast everyday. The Fairmount Diner was (hands down) the best breakfast experience of my visit. A welcoming, comfortable vibe in a neighborhood diner setting. Good food and excellent service! What else do you want? 😁

We lived in Rapid City for 13 years and during our 8 years of full-time RVing since then we come back each summer. I can't believe that we never taken the time to eat here before. The service was top notch, coffee was good and always topped off. Everything that we ordered was very good. Place was clean. I would recommend and will go again. Only critics and it's a personal issue: I wish all businesses would stop using those auto scent sprayers in the bathrooms. I've been directly sprayed by them before and that is dangerous for the estimated 1/3 or more of the population that deals with chemical sensitivity. Their sprayer is pointing directly at you when you are doing your business. I would also encourage the wonderfully, friendly owner to dial back the cologne. It's kind of strong. But he's so so nice!
