El Jinete Mexican Restaurant

Locals took me here for a farewell lunch after 2 weeks in Oak Ridge. It was busy, but staff were courteous, attentive, and generous with tortilla chips and sauce while our meals were being prepared. On request, they provided an especially hot sauce that we mixed with the regular salsa to suit our tastes. They were glad to accommodate requests to omit rice from individual orders. Even so, the volume served was a bit much for me, but maybe ideal for younger, hungrier people. Next time in Oak Ridge, I would go again.

Best Mexican food in Oak Ridge and the best I have tried so far in the Knoxville area. Moved here from California and this is the Mexican food we are used to. Very good. Had the steak molcajete and steak and shrimp plate. Atmosphere and service is good too. Now we just need some live music :)

I really like the inside of the place. I also think the service is top notch. The food is good. It’s a bit higher on the price but the portion size is quite large. Also everything is fairly new.

A fairly new Mexican restaurant. I couldn't recommend a restaurant more. The service was very good not great. But we were a large party so it was understandable. The food is some of the best Mexican food i have ever had. Including Mexico and Calf. They may be one to two dollars higher per plate than other Mexican restaurants around town but boy is it worth it.
