Delicious home cooking! Wonderful staff, and such a happy environment! A scenic drive from Nashville or Springfield! Definitely will be returning...

Very comfy and feel at home environment. Very fast service and food came out within minutes. Only complaint was it was a bit cold in the room with the air conditioner on and the old floors with the creaking and dipping down from not enough support underneath. I love this little town.

I don’t like being this person but I’m going to. I went to Cody’s my first time this week and I was soooo excited as I’ve heard wonderful things about their food but when I say I was disappointed is an understatement. The pancakes were so obviously frozen microwaved pancakes, and the biscuits were burnt. I ordered over well eggs and they came out with the whites of the egg still clear, barley cooked. The coffee was bitter like the coffee pot is never cleaned. The lady sat us at a dirty table that I personally wiped down. The hash browns were liked mashed potatoes really. Just a big ball of mush. Did I go on a bad day? Was the regular cook out sick? I was so disappointed and I probably won’t return.

Love the food here. Only disappointment, and I mean the ONLY, was I had my heart set on their amazing breakfast and they switched to lunch at 10:30am. But, not to disappoint! I "settled" for the Friday special of Chicken and dressing! Delicious!!! Love this place!!

If you like old fashion down home cooking you will like this place. It is primarily a meat and 2 or 3 type place. Today, Friday, was catfish day so I had that with turnip greens, white beans, and hushpuppies. The fish was very good and the turnip greens reminded me of those my mother used to cook. The diner is in an old house with very limited space for seating. The cooks and waitresses were like they were out of an old Andy Griffith show, although this was my first visit they treated me like I was an old friend calling me honey, sugar and joking. I will definitely eat there again.

This place right here, in a word, PERFECT! Today my travels brought me to Ashland City. I am a breakfast guy, of the old fashioned variety, and I've often found that small towns have the best breakfast places. So I googled "breakfast Ashland city" and Cody's Diner popped up. So I headed there. Driving up it was a classic country diner is an old classic country house, so a good start. I was greeted immediately as I walked in with "sit wherever you'd like, Darlin'", getting better. My coffee and water hit the table in less than 2 minutes. I ordered and got my homemade French toast, bacon and grits in about 5-6 minutes. It was all steaming, fresh and delicious. The service was fabulous and the ladies worked as a team to make sure your coffee stayed fresh and to see if you needed anything else. My recommendation, if you like a great country breakfast served by people who genuinely like what the do, Cody's Diner is a must. Also, a great story behind why it's called Cody's Diner. No spoilers here, go there and ask, and enjoy a great breakfast. I hope my travels bring me back again, or at least close enough.
