“We stopped in while traveling from out of state. When we arrived every table was full and staff was short. The people on shift serving and cooking were amazing. We got in and out within an hour. They were very considerate of time and needs of every table close to us as well. Our glasses were never empty and our food was hot and delicious. Excellent service. Excellent food. “Food is normally amazing last time I went my child's fries weren't cooked fully they were hard in the middle, the chicken quesadilla was really oily and when I ordered them before no oil or frying it was needed, fried ice cream was melted big time and it had no corn flakes honey whipped cream or cinnamon. Normally I get home and its softened but it was straight up melted. I wont be back for a while. Only pic I took was of the fried ice cream. I didnt think of take pics.”

Got there for a big Reunion group, and they would not allow us to sit down until right at 1:00 pm, and weren't nice either. I went to get banana pudding, owner, I presume, wouldn't stop giving staff person a lecture before letting her get me my pudding. So, I assume from him is where the attitude comes. And, chairs are hard to move on concrete floor and loud, need to put chair slides on the legs of chairs so they slide easier. But, there are many choices of food to chose from!!!”

“A little disappointed with service. Ordered 2 sodas and two large orders of fries. That's all - no burgers, no desserts, nothing else. Without exaggeration, we were there 10 to 15 minutes waiting for our order. There were no other customers eating there and there was perhaps, one other customer on line. Granted, they were trying to fill a big order, but two fries and two sodas should not be done on a first in first out basis, in my opinion. We could see that they had fries in the hopper and tries getting cooked. It would not have taken much to scoop up the fries. On a more positive side, the restaurant was very clean, including the bathrooms, which was somewhat of a surprise because I usually am unimpressed with fast food restaurant bathroom cleanliness. The workers were nice, but did not seem extremely eager to have my business.”

“Good local BBQ joint. Basic setting with plentiful food at a good price. Fried okra was excellent, fries average and BBQ satisfying. Ribs were good, but the pulled pork had chunks of gristle in it, suggesting that they may have chopped it versus pulling. Average meal price was around $12-13. If you are staying at the Montgomery Bell state park and looking for an eating out option besides the lodge, it is worth a stop. Doesn't look special when you see it from the road, and while satisfying, it isn't special local BBQ either.”
