The Southern Oven

We searched high and low for this place, since reception was bad, we loaded the address into Ford map, and it sent us 11 minutes away... Google maps got us there when we got signal.

The place looks like an old inn, and the inside is stacked with walls of yellow wood. It's a seat yourself diner. The waiter was really nice and fun to talk to.

The food! I ordered 6 wings, and a chicken bacon ranch sandwich, and the fiancee ordered the chicken tender plate with corn fritters and loaded tato. We also got an ice cream cone with 2 chocolate scoops. It was like 19$!!!!! The food was excellent. It was better than some of the hype train restaurants back home. The water was great, the tea was a little too sweet. This place is a terrific establishment to go to after a day of hiking.

Clean and neat decor.

Food was good. Ordered apple cream cheese cake. Very good. Dad ordered peach cobbler...was dry. He told waitress she brought him another order w ice cream. He said it was delicious.

Had breakfast here. Homemade gravy. Doesn't get much better. Husband had Western omelet. Love this place. Will be coming back often.

I enjoy this little hidden away restaurant. It is very well decorated and quiet. Get your picture made with John Wayne! (It is a cutout folks) I definitely have plans to go back soon. They offer plate meals as well as short order. If you are in the area do yourself a favor and head out there!
