I tried the meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and boiled cabbage. GOOD, ate there for lunch.

This is food that I can totally recommend. I love simple foods cooked well and this is what you get here. Best vegetables, fried chicken, desserts, etc etc you will find in this entire area. Love this little cafeteria.

We ate here at about 5:30pm on a Monday. Some things were great and some were not so great. We got pan-fried chicken, mashed potatoes and chicken gravy, mac and cheese, boiled cabbage, corn bread, and chocolate and lemon meringue pie. Everything was home-made. The chicken, corn bread and pies were dry, as if they had been made awhile. (the chocolate pie filling was still good anyway.) I imagine all these items would have been very good if they had been freshly made. BUT, the mashed potatoes, the gravy, the cabbage and the mac and cheese were great! I will go back just for the sides, maybe at an earlier hour.

It happened to be one of the only local places open on a Sunday so we stopped in. The food was great and we got to talk to the owner for a bit. Didn’t get a chance to try the pie, but we’ll definitely be back for that!
