I’m a big fan of Charlie’s. The cornbread waffle is so delicious and a unique menu item. Plus, their desserts are so good! My wife and I got chess pie and peach cobbler on our most recent trip and both were phenomenal. I only wish they had white bbq sauce.
The people who own it are very service oriented. The selection is great, and everything tastes wonderful. Especially the dessert..I am not a huge barbecue fan..but brisket and pulled pork are my favorite..no sauce. I highly recommend it.
Met the owner, Wes and he seems like a really nice guy. He thanked us multiple times for coming in. Hubby and I got the 4 meat sampler plate that consisted of pulled pork, smoked chicken, brisket and ribs. It comes with 2 sides and a drink. We added 2 more sides since we wanted to try more on our first visit. I'm not a rib person, but my husband said they were awesome. The brisket was pretty fatty and I'm just not a fan of fatty meats. The chicken was decent and the pulled pork was mine and hubby's favorite meat. The mac n cheese was just ok, didn't care for the slaw at all, but the baked beans and potato salad were both really good. We also tried the peanut butter pie- it was delicious and the chocolate chip/butterscotch cookies were great as well! I'm not sure how they make their cookies, but they are the perfect texture in my opinion! We will definitely be back!
