(September 26, 2019, 11:50 pm)Quick, friendly service. Great selection of southern staples. The fried oysters were fantastic and the shrimp & grits were flavorful and well prepared. If I ever have occasion to return to Chattanooga, I’ll definitely be back to Southern Star!

(September 23, 2019, 5:29 pm)My husband and I stopped here spontaneously on our honeymoon. It did not disappoint. Great price and the food was just amazing. A very well staffed restaurant as well, plenty of people to help you out if needed. Made us feel welcomed. I would definitely recommend this place if you are ever in the Chattanooga area.

(August 5, 2019, 9:24 pm)Delicious southern/soul food in Chattanooga's South Side. Traditional fare such as fried green tomatoes and fried chicken. The blue plate is a daily choice of 2 different meats and 2 vegetables from a selection of 8 to 10. There is also a selection of salads, quiche, sandwiches and deserts. We were all very satisfied with our meal and the price. 4 adults ate for $80 including tip, and we each had leftovers for later at home. I can't imagine anyone not enjoying Southern Star.
