Los Girasoles

For any gringos that have not tried this place, this review is for you! Maybe you will wait 30 minutes at rush times but it is authentic! NOT a chain in a world of chain restaurants. Very casual. People were really nice to me even though I was the "outsider" in there. Outsider meaning I do not speak Spanish well and their English is perfect. Music is loud and lively. The one waitress was very busy so I went and sat myself (might have added to my wait time) and you pay at the grocery register that you can't miss near exit/entrance. Went for Saturday togo lunch when it was almost full except for patio and got served my to go order of carne asade and whole fried fish in 20 to 25 minutes. My Life 360 app said I was there a total of 35 minutes but I was not in a rush. I parked in lot to right of Los Girasoles with other patrons and had no problems getting in or out.

They have excellent food, it's authentic Mexican. We go there at least twice a week. I'm vegan and they are very accommodating to adjust my plates accordingly. There are lots of vegan options, because you can put beans on everything! Even their guacamole is vegan!!! (Almost all the Mexican restaurants in Knoxville put sour cream in their guacamole)

Gorditas are the best.Better if you know some spanish,to dine here.
