We stopped Makino Japanese Buffet for lunch. There were too many different types of rolls and hot dishes to name. They had a crispy shrimp dish that was fantastic. I ate several of the rolls and they were all excellent. I noticed that they did not put out huge trays of anything. As soon as a tray was empty it was refilled. The sushi chefs were constantly busy preparing rolls. Nothing had a chance to sit and dry out. Everything was fresh and hot. We would definitely return if in the area.

Makino has become my favorite Japanese, Chinese Buffet in Knoxville. The sushi is always fresh, great variety, the Soups are great, the hot dishes are as good as or better than any other restaurant within 100 miles of Knoxville, and we have literally tried them all, For a buffet, this is an amazing place with a great selection. We are there at least once a week, and will be for a long time to come as far as I can see. I especially enjoy the coconut shrimp, the Mongolian Chicken, in fact I haven't tasted anything that wasn't done to perfection. The place is always busy, popular with regular diners from what I have seen.

If you want good quality buffet then go here. It's around $12 for lunch and the sushi is set out at the buffet along with hibachi. At night it's around $20 and the sushi is made to order I've been eating here fir years and haven't had a bad time yet.

Say what you want about a buffet, but this is a good one. If you can find a better value at 20 dollars, I'm all ears. The sushi is made to order and surprisingly good. The hibachi and hot bar are all perfectly on par with what you should expect. I like eating here, and I'd stand by it as a great value.

This place was great. Went for dinner there was a great selection to choose from, some traditional and some authentic. Also was able to order sushi made fresh with our buffet (try the eel and smoked salmon). The staff did an excellent job. We really enjoyed our waiter; he was able to answer any question we had and was very pleasant. Loved this place.
