A meal SO GOOD it made me cry! When you love to cook, eating out can be tricky, because why pay for food you could just make (often better) at home? I am happy to report that I cannot recreate any of the three menu items my husband and I enjoyed this afternoon (potato blintz, whitefish bialy, and the incomparable matzo ball soup).

Everything was fresh, perfectly seasoned, well-portioned and DELICIOUS. It's probably for the best that they close at 3pm... otherwise, I don't know that we'd eat anywhere else!

The owners and staff are so welcoming! It is a beautiful space with perfect lighting coming from the frosted glass peaked roof. The energy is warm and makes you feel like you’re joining friends for a meal. And the food HOLY COW it’s delicious. I haven’t even had a touch of the whole menu and just their simple rip n dip bialy is mouthwatering. Flavor profiles are intricate and familiar in a way that taps into your emotions no matter if this is the food you grew up with or not. Great place to relax and enjoy something different (celery juice is to die for!).

I've been excitedly waiting for Potchke to open, and was finally able to sample some of their dishes today during their soft open. I tried the Avo Tartine and the Matzo Ball Soup, both of which were delicious- packed to bursting with fresh ingredients and a well balanced blend of richness, acidity, and the brightness of fresh herbs. It was filling, but so light and perfect for Spring.

The space is so open and bright, with so much fun use of color. The plants, tables, and decor all seem very thoughtfully picked out, with cute seating areas in the front and back as well as plenty of table, hightop, and bar seating. I'm definitely going to be back to try more!
