I miss the true culture and atmosphere of this place back a few years ago, as now it's designed like a modern day restaurant and has lost it's charm and personality...but I absolutely love the food, and the brother who was our waiter. Took excellent care of us as we got wasted on sake and hibachi

Tomo Japanese Restaurant and catering services are an upscale Japanese place.
My two sons and I order dinner to go from, Tomo Japanese Restaurant on Friday July 19,2019 at 6:19 pm.
My oldest son orders the chicken hibachi with rice and sweet carrots with shrimp sauce on the side.
And my youngest son order the shrimp hibachi with rice and sweet carrots with shrimp sauce on the side.
The Japanese rice was very dry, the sweet carrots were tasteless and the chicken tasted like it had been frozen for a while.
Tomo Japanese Restaurant has the best made from scratch shrimp sauce, our shrimp was very good.
Our server was a very kind gentleman who place our order, our food was a little bit of a wait.

Tomo has amazing sushi and hibachi bowls! I haven't tried the other items on their menu, but I'll definitely be back. The restaurant is clean and the decor is really nice. Best of all, the staff is incredibly friendly without being overbearing. Highly recommended! :)

We have always loved Tomo but they did some renovations and are even better! Full open bar, poke bowls, rice bowls, hibachi and sushi. We always get their sushi and it doesn't disappoint. Last night we got the Cherry Blossom roll and we both agreed it was potentially the best sushi we've ever had. Our waiter was very nice, attentive but not too bothersome. Thanks, Tomo!

Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. His professional demeanor made us feel like we were at a 5-star resort, and his recommendations were on point.

This was hands down one of our favorite dining experiences in Knoxville!
