The quaint and quiet atmosphere was a lovely reprieve. One of my friends had the Hangover Bowl and some coffee. She said the coffee tasted old. She put it aside and ordered an unsweet tea. The dish was good, but not great, according to her.

Another companion had a $10 bowl of Mac & cheese that tasted like a basic box mix with some shredded cheese added.

The French Toast had a great flavor, but the inner bread did not receive an infusion of the goodness. (See pic)

The chicken was the least liked of the dishes we ordered.

Overall, it was a nice lunch, but when we go again, we will go for brunch and most likely order baked goods. The $5 cinnamon rolls looked delicious 😋

For $50, I received French Toast, bowl of Mac & Cheese, a small Chicken Salad sandwich, sweet tea and a glass of water.

Wild Flour Across the River is a great place to do lunch. We really enjoyed what we ordered today and Kaylee, our server did a great job. Let me start out that there's nothing "light" on the menu, so if you don't show up hungry you will be taking home a lot of leftovers. So, prepare for your visit by being hungry. One of their specials today was chili and I ordered it. It was phenomenal! It was not overly spicy, but that's OK. It will be palate friendly to most diners. It was served with a scoop of pimiento cheese swimming in the chili. Accompanying it was two gorgeous pieces of cornbread. It was not the old yellow Jiffy cornbread. This was golden brown and had been prepared for serving in a pan with butter. This cornbread had a consistency like cake. Great flavor. There were corn kernels inside both slices to make for a more interesting texture. I vacuumed this up and found this entree wouldn't leave me feeling hungry an hour later.

My wife ordered the TBA Sandwich. Let me tell you, that's a lot of sandwich! Served on a baked bun, there are layers of delight: turkey, bacon, two gorgeous tomato slices, stone-ground mustard, and avocado slices. It comes out on a plate and is held erect by a sandwich skewer. It is a challenge to eat, because the major components slide on each other. My wife cut the sandwich in half, but it was still hard to handle. There was probably too much turkey - it was a single wad in the middle. Perhaps the slices could have been flattened individually? Well, my wife ate it, but I assisted.

    They serve Pepsi products here.

Buy some of their wonderful cinnamon rolls to take home. You won't regret it.

    Hints:

    (1) The daily specials are listed under the cash register. If there's someone paying, you can't read the specials. I know eventually these signs will find a better home.

    (2) There's a red neon OPEN sign blazing brightly on the far right end of the building, but there is not a public entrance there! Next to the sign is an old scrap sign that tells you are in the right spot. The public entrance is on the far left, under the new white banner they've erected. The door is slightly to the right of the banner. Can't miss it. This will improve with time.

Please eat here. The food is great. Sometimes they close because they sell out of their breads. You won't regret coming here. Just get a salad someplace else!

We have been twice to the Wild Flour Across the River- Once for lunch and had a huge CUBAN sandwich that was well worth it and again for breakfast where we devoured the Cinnamon Roll French Toast and crispy bacon! We love the sweet tea here as well! Can't wait to come back & try more items on the menu!

This was one of those places that we weren't expecting to fall in love with, but we did. The coffee is solid, whether it is black coffee or an iced coffee. The food though is out of this world. Whoever makes their pimento cheese is killing it! Not that that is the only thing not worthy, but it was especially noteworthy. The food though is top notch. You want quality, you get quality and good prices. It's not cheap, but it's not cheap food either. The banana bread french toast was the perfect amount of sweet. The hangover bowl was to die for. Perfect for those that like a little bit of everything. The avocado toast was loaded with toppings and the biscuits and gravy was worthwhile.

While the food was great, the staff was even better. Such friendly staff who ensure you have everything you need plus some. They were checking frequently, but not enough to be annoying. Kept our glasses full and always friendly.

It's a great mom and pop place that you'll love to visit over and over again. They offer breakfast and lunch which lunch can be ordered at any time; win! I can't speak for lunch, but I will be able to here soon when I come back!
