Warden's Table

This place is great. You need to eat here and buy some moonshine. Take the road north into the mountain afterwards and you will be extremely happy. And for the locals out there that put the sign up saying its closed, Sorry but the gig is up. Take the sign down.

Very nice place great food and reasonable priced.
Plus it has the prison them and feel. Really enjoyed it. Nice gift shop and distillery there too. Plus for $12.00 a person you can take a tour of Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary. I really enjoyed my visit.

I thought it could be better,like the cells where the famous prisioners were and some info on them but there was only large posting in another room describing most of inmates and crimes. The lighting was horrible,no ac, and if you did not have a guide you were pretty much on your own. The only part I liked was the yard and guard posts.

We got the ribs with baked beans and Mac and cheese and my mom got cole slaw and beans with hers. By far the most tender ribs we’ve had. I was a little concerned with the size of the sides but they were more than enough. We left full. The beans were very good and the Mac and cheese was so creamy. There was a fritter, a cookie, and a small watermelon wedge on our trays too. Which was nice considering we weren’t expecting it. We will definitely be back. It would be fantastic to know what they were serving every day though. (Not sure if they post on fb or not).

I had the 1/2 rack of ribs plate with coleslaw, baked beans, a starter of fried pickles, and a drink. The food was fresh/hot and the order was ready fast (seemed like it was ready in under 10 minutes). The food was very, very good (as good as or better than some mid to upper level sit down chain restaurants) and the prices were actually very close, if not better than, most of those restaurants. I would not hesitate to eat there again.
