Pier 42 Restaurant at Sunset Marina

We stopped in for drinks & appetizers and the staff was extremely friendly. Our food was excellent and the atmosphere didn't disappoint. We got icecream & walked the marina after. Such a fun & friendly place.

I came on here to voice a complaint but... We love Pier 42! It is the highlight of our regular trips to Dale Hollow. We had a group of 8. Everyone was very pleased with the food and our service. We were there on a Wednesday night, they were busy but not slammed. Our choices were catfish and shrimp combo. He said it was good but regretted not getting all shrimp, it was the best. The pulled pork was the most frequent choice. Everyone raved about it. It is usually my choice too. The smoked potato salad and the mac and cheese are universal favorites. We ALWAYS order them. One person ordered the pulled pork nachos, a preference we share. She said they were excellent and I agreed on my sample bite. I ordered the ribs which were excellent and very spicy with a dry rub. They were so good, I didn't even use any of the sauces. My complaint was about the outside seating. This is the third time we have been there and that it was closed. They offered to let us get to go order and eat outside. I'm not sure how the liquor laws work in Tennessee but in Indiana that would have meant no pitchers of beer. If we had chosen that they would have lost the sale of the 3 pitchers of beer and the waitress would have lost an excellent tip. While we were there there were 3 groups who also requested outside seating and were disappointed. Management fix this! You have a wonderful restaurant with excellent food!

Excellent service, great food and it's located on Dale Hollow Lake. What more could you want

If you want to eat food that has a big city taste without having to go to a big city? This place has it all. You'll be surprised at some of the menu options! The owner is a really great guy and he puts his heart and soul into the business, it shows well. I would highly recommend this place if you're passing through Pickett county or just hungry in general!
