First time here and the experience was perfect! The flavors were incredible and the quality of the food was top notch. The service was above and beyond and the vibe of the dining room was exactly what you want for this food experience. The Mofongo was as good (if not better) than any I've had, the pork shoulder and roasted chicken were phenomenal and all of the sides were perfect. They have daily specials and a regular menu and we'll definitely be back to try everything else. The Dominican soda we tried was killer and there is beer, fountain drinks, etc. A nice little gem in the Boro that I wish everyone will find.

Was wanting something different and have seen talk about the dishes at MamaJuana 615. They are not normally open on Sunday, but the stars were in my favor so off I went. I met Marcos Santana (Army Veteran and Owner) and he told me about the different foods they serve, the unique flavors, and the various countries represented in their dishes. Also got to meet Will Lopez who posts about the dishes, he was working his magic in the kitchen. This spot specializes in Dominican and American foods, and that’s when Marcos showed me the Picaderas dish getting ready to be served to another couple. Picaderas basically means snacks or finger foods. Their offering consisted of Dominican sausage, Dominican salami, marinated rib-eye steak, fried Dominican Tropical cheese, plantains, and I added a side of the macaroni salad. Marcos asked me if I would mind trying a sample of their Dominican style spaghetti and I said sure.

The Picaderas was good (note there is a smaller version) and I really loved the salami and sausage…different flavors from what I am used to when eating the “American” versions. I liked the marinated steak but it was a bit salty for my tastes. The fried cheese was delicious and the plantains were nice and crispy and as you can see…there were plenty! Overall this dish is a really interesting and can make for a meal or appetizer. Would be interesting to see what kind of Dominican sauces could be paired up with this dish (sweet, spicy, hot, etc). Loved the macaroni salad…crisp veggies, Al-dente pasta, light seasoning…an easy complement to any dish served there. As for the spaghetti…very different from what I am used to. It has a big green pepper flavor, rich tomato sauce, the salami actually complements the dish, and somehow it all works together and is good. I would order this dish!

They have been open a few months and are still creating and refining their menu. They serve good food and the folks here are super nice and welcoming. I will be back to try some of the other dishes there. Also note…their Beer & Wine license is pending but the orange Naranja was really good and not overly sweet like the American version. Also appreciated Marcos and MamaJuana 615 offering a military discount to veterans.

Wow, Just wow! I Did Not expect so much flavor in this new spot I found.
First and foremost, I am a very picky eater. So I took a big chance.
Upon entering the Restaurant I was greeted by the waitress Eliana. Big smile so I am like ok cool. I asked her what she recommended and everything sounded so good. She had No issue in explaining dishes and flavors. I decided to go with the Rib eye stake with saltae, onions baked potato and butter bread toasted and omg. Flavor, freshness and cooked to order was Amazing.
My wife Ordered Camarón Mofongo con camarones (mashed plantain topped with Garlic and shrimps) she kindly let me taste it and wow. The flavor was out of this world of love at first bite. Topped it with desert Flan for me and red velvet cake for the wife. It was so good this place will be my go to place for now on. 10/10. And not pricie for so much flavor.

The times I been here I can say the food is beyond amazing everything made fresh, the chef/ owner came out and engaged with his customers, extremely lovely staff. I been here a few times and everything I’ve tried has been incredibly delicious, they have one of the best crab cakes ever. The environment is clean, the staff would immediately clear a table sanitize it and leave it ready for a next customer.
