Ate here for the 1st time. Hidden gem in murfreesboro. What better than be able to eat good Mexican and good Chinese food in the same trip. Perfect for a family that can't decide between the two. We will absolutely be back!
It's at the old white castle in the mobil gas station on old fort parkway but don't let the location deter you. Would recommend

    Hidden Gem Alert!
This was one of the best meals I have had. Yes, it surprised me how much I enjoyed it. I ordered the Quesabirrias, and they were great. I will 100% be back to explore their menu.

    Update:
I went back to try a Chinese option on the menu. It was Amazing! I really don't understand how you can be so good at both types of food in one restaurant, but they've done it. I had the Mongolian chicken, and absolutely loved it.

Bonus, they have a drive through.

    Mexichina Express is AMAZING!!!

In a city of many Mexican restaurants and mediocre and fewer Chinese joints, this is a welcomed surprise.

It's located in the old White Castle/Church's/Many Other Failed Projects in the Marathon gas station on the corner of Old Fort and Thompson.

When I first heard of a combo Mexican and Chinese restaurant I thought to myself, "Why would anyone do that?" And "Why does that sound amazing?"

The service was great. Food cooked to order. Prices reasonable for the quality.

I've always questioned what kind of meat or quality of meat when it comes to the Chinese restaurants in town. Not naming names but some of it seems sus. Not here. The quality of the beef in the Pepper Steak was great quality. The sauce in the Pepper Steak was spot on for the flavor profile and it was a thicker sauce which many places don't make that way. It was ridiculously good and will be my go to from now on to scratch that Chinese itch.

The Sweet and Sour chicken was tossed in the sauce making it a bit soggy but the taste more than made up for that. We figured the thinking is that General Tso's is tossed in sauce, so what's the difference? I'm ok with it.

The Lo Mein was on point. I prefer my noodles more al dente but that's a personal preference. The taste was great and it had a nice garlic flavor thrown in.

The fried rice was literally the best I've ever had. I come from the Northeast originally and I feel that the Chinese food up there is far superior to the Chinese food in the South. BUT it's all subjective. This rice however, is not subjective. No typical frozen peas carrots onions etc in it. Just plain egg fried rice. (Very little egg) And it's cooked with white pepper which is an amazing spice in Chinese food that most places just don't use or use enough. It's spicy but it's so flavorful and unlike any other fried rice I've had. I couldn't stop eating it. I can't wait to order it with chicken or beef.

My wife never had Crab Rangoon and they threw it in for free to try so many thanks for that. I don't like seafood at all so I passed on it. But my wife said it was really good and for those that don't know it's a fried wonton with crab meat and cream cheese in it. There was very little crab in it but that's expected and she said she liked it.

Now for the Mexican part of this flavor filled journey.

The Crunchy ground beef tacos don't travel well. They fell apart as we ate them which a lot of people may complain about. I'm not going to hold that against them. The quality of the ingredients and the amazing flavor of the ground beef gave it a pass. It was very good.

The Birria taco was so good and I'm not usually a fan of it. We picked off the cilantro and onions. My wife hates onions and Cilantro tastes like dish soap to me lol. But the texture of the shredded beef was so good and the flavor was incredible!

FYI, we didn't get it but the Pizzabirria is the ingredients of Birria on a pizza. That can't be bad right?

    I digress as I digest.

The rice and beans were stupid good. Especially the refried beans. Not always a fan but when done right, can be so good.

Lastly, the cheese dip which is the most simplest of things in Mexican places was just ok for me. My wife liked it, my 5 year old daughter hated it lol. But if that's all I have to complain about given all the things we ordered, so be it.

Again, food as in most things in life is subjective based on where you're from, what your individual likes and taste buds enjoy. For me? This was a grand slam and I can't wait to go back to get some of the same things and to try some new things. I REALLY hope this place sticks around so please do me a favor and try it for yourselves and leave a review. I'm interested to hear what other people think of it.

I was traveling back to Atlanta and we had to pump gas , we stop at this gas station that was closed to the freeway, once inside we saw this restaurant that is Mexican and Chinese and decided to try the food, it was the best decision we could’ve made, I tried the quesabirria and it was amazing , the flavor was so good and my sister tried the Mongolian chicken which was also very delicious. I will definitely go back to try the rest of the food next time I’m in town.
