I will miss this place. Closed due to no staff even as a lunch buffet after many nights of dinner parties I will be sad.
Omni Hut just reopened after an extended shut down / reorganization .
The owner , a wonderful woman , Polly decided to reopen with only a buffet style lunch. We thought we would check it out. Aparently so did All of there other old customers. Polly and her delightful food had customers lined up out the door. Perfect. Although the wait was a bit lengthy, the good food made it worth while. All Of our Favorites Were On The buffet, Yes! The pricing is pay by the dish. No worries, as we have missed these dishes due to their time closed.
Omni Hut is truly a victim of their own success. Long lines of customers with staff busting it to keep everyone happy.
My wife and I wish them all the luck and happiness in the world .
It was way beyond what I was expecting, this was my first time ever going, I hate to over hype it, for me it was amazing. I think I ordered some sort of sampler, I'm guessing it was meant for three people, when I finally finished what I can only now assume was the appetizer tray, my waitress asks me if I'm ready for the main course, to which my response was, there's more? It really was fantastic, beautiful women in mu mu's, some of the best pork I've ever had. Then they brought me seafood, it was delicious, I'm not even sure what all I ate, I couldn't finish it. Had a great time, highly recommend this establishment for parties.
Classic retro restaurant, fun for that special event. Food is kind of hit and miss, but the atmosphere is one of a kind
Omni Hut has been in Smyrna pretty much as long as Smyrna has existed. The interior is a magical place full of Hawaiian themed décor. There are fountains and aquariums to fully bring you to a little restraunt on the beach. The staff is also dressed in the theme. The food is amazing; two things you should definitely try are the Hawaiian tea and the fiery pu pu appetizer. They bring a whole loaf of fresh bread for the table. If you still have room after that, the fried rice and steak teriyaki are exquisite. We often bring out of town guests here and they love it!
