North China Chinese Restaurant

I thought it was refreshing to NOT see a buffet. This was above average Chinese food. I got the Mongolian Beef and hot and sour soup. It was very good. Service was prompt and the food came out good, hot and quick. I would have given it 5 stars but yes, I have had slightly better Chinese.

If this were a takeout joint with takeout joint prices, I'd be inclined to go with four stars. The food is takeout joint good. And I'm not sure, but I think they actually seasoned the food instead of just loading it with msg. It really was pretty good. On the downside, the prices were absurd. Also, putting the gratuity in the bill is presumptuous. Sticking it in in Chinese and not saying you did so without being asked is sketchy. The interior could use a good scrub and some paint. And the water cups are silly small. In spite of all of this, I enjoyed the food enough to go with three stars.

I work in Gatlinburg, so I get to try a lot of restaurants up here. This one is by far my favorite for Chinese food! I usually order it to-go, and take it home with me after work. By the time I get it and get home, it’s been in my car for around an hour. It’s still hot! There has been a few times that I’ve had to actually wait for it cool down to eat it once I do get home. It’s also not that pricey given everything up here cost more because it’s in a tourist town. It’s kind of a “hole in the wall” place because it’s located down an alley. I highly recommend this place!

We came here 5 years ago, it was delicious and quiet! We came back hoping to find this place again.. It is the most authentic food.. Delicious! Excellent service. Polite and really enjoy coming here when we visit Gatlinburg!!
