Piccadilly Cafeteria

Tasty and expensive small servings with good service

Visited 10/12/19. I have fond memories of going to Picadilly Cafeteria as a special treat when I was growing up in Memphis. This was my first visit in over 20 years. The food lived up to my memories. The selection was great, portions were generous, and almost everything was tasty. Only the fried okra wasn't up to par. The chocolate pie was so great. My husband, first visit ever, enjoyed everything as well, especially his two desserts :).

The line servers were great-friendly and and careful to make sure customers were getting exactly what they wanted. I wish we could have tipped them. Our waitress was not great. When we got seated she dropped by with napkins and a "just holler at me if you need anything!" Then she buzzed by (Literally. She did not stop.) About midpoint in the mealt o ask if everything was okay. But at that point we didn't need anything because I had already fetched my own condiments and our food would have been cold before we started eating if we had waited until we saw her again to request them. I also got our drink refills and then our coffee since we didn't merit her attention again for the rest of our dinner. I even saw her in the beverage line and she didn't bat an eye.

We called ahead and said we could get there by 8:45pm , could we get 6 carry outs. She said she couldn't do that. She said she would hold the line open until 8:35pm. We walked in the door at 8:36pm. She said
come and get it. We said thank! Thank you! Thank you! I'm recommending her for a raise for going beyound the call of duty! Can't thank you enough! You enough! You enough!

I'm so glad that Piccadilly is still around. There are not many places where you can have this many choices of the vegetables and home cooked meals. Food was really good, but service was even better. Jessica was our server and the way she took care of her customers was awesome. It was amazing how many people she knew by name. It was a great lunch.
