The best service in Memphis.
Ask for Byron to be your server you will not be disappointed.
The food was better that you would ever dream of in a million years.
I cannot quite put into words just how incredible this place is. We did the four-course prix fixe dinner, which turned into ELEVEN courses after all the additional things they bring you between each course. Every single thing everyone had at our table was delicious and beautiful. The service was top-notch, absolutely flawless, and their attention to detail was impeccable. They are even so kind as to let you substitute courses, which allowed my dad, a diabetic, to have an additional seafood course instead of dessert at no extra charge and not miss out on part of the meal. The ambience is lovely too, quiet and cozy and very clean. And I could write another paragraph about how attentive and helpful and kind the entire staff is. Will 100% be returning again and again.
The presentation was very nice and the food was good. There was a large group that seemed to dominate, and overwhelm, the wait staff, and as a consequence the service at our table was disappointing, at least until that group left. We were also surprised, and disappointed, to learn that the menu is solely prix fixe and that there is no option to order a la carte for light eaters. Overall, it was not the experience that we expected for a restaurant of this caliber, and we were disappointed.
To make matters worse, I just received an email from the restaurant, via OpenTable, stating that we were a no-show. It jseems to me that, either this restaurant was having a bad night, or they need to get their act together.
This place never disappoints. This time - I went for a traditional English afternoon tea. 3 course menu and I LOVE the tea sandwiches and scones. Wednesday- Saturday 1-330pm it’s about $45 per person but WORTH EVERY CENT. It would be wise to make reservations. In Memphis for a few days and decided to try Chez Philippe for dinner, what an experience! I'm not sure what was the best, the food, the staff and service or the room. We had the four course with wine pairing and it was just fabulous! Next time we're in Memphis we will return.
