I think their roast beef sandwich is the best. You would never think of going to a fast food restaurant for fried shrimp, but theirs is outstanding and they also have catfish which is good and a nice salad bar. Also a great place for breakfast. ????
Great breakfast for a surprisingly affordable price! And a second to none salad bar!!!
After 4.5 years in Memphis I have never been here til the other day. The hot smoked Turkey sandwich is da bomb! I only added a little bit of mayo and it was perfect. So so good!
Went back yesterday and tried the salad bar. I love that I can order grilled chicken for $1! The amount of chicken was well worth the price and a nice addition to my salad. The ingredients were fresh and tasty, and I would happily enjoy another salad bar again.
Staff are pleasant and helpful, and my mom enjoyed receiving her soup piping hot the first time - she didn't have to send it back to be reheated: a huge plus!
One drawback was in the salad bar. The counter is pretty tall, and the food pans are a good distance away from the edge, making reaching back pans difficult (I'm not short). Also, the protective sneeze glass is positioned in such a way that in order to reach the back pans, one must bend underneath the glass barrier - which renders it useless. Long hair could end up dipping into front pans, food can be dropped. It's just not the most user friendly. It's not the end of the world, but still a drawback.
Even still, I'll be back. Yum!
One of the last Danver's left around Memphis since they sold. Great burgers, fries, steaks, baked potatoes, salad bar, roast beef, catfish, and coke products. Very clean and nice people working there. I drive from Southaven to get there, some 30 miles. All that and good prices! Good parking also.
I started going to Danvers when they were located on Highland near Memphis State in the late 1970s! My favorite is the roast beef combo but what really makes it is the sauce. I put it on the sandwich, fries, baked potato and even use it as salad dressing!! Delicious food at reasonable prices.
