Great service food off the chain Marvin is Awesome! Clean Store and Comfortable dining
Simple honest good food. The meatloaf was really good and had a unique flavor, too much topping for my taste but easily removed. The green beans were awesome with a hint of spice, really unique and also really good. The dressing had a good flavor too but was a bit dry, the gravy on top was good but I would’ve liked quite a bit more to help with the dryness of the dish. Definitely worth another try and if I get the nerve up I’ll try some of the soul food dishes like the turkey necks; they were selling like hot cakes!
Excellent food! Respectful and quick service. Will come again, carry out or eat in.
Omg! I ate here for the first time today and I must say it was through the roof! Food was hot and plentiful. Fresh tasting. Friendly staff and a very clean establishment. From the hot and tasty food to the convenience store this place has it all! Only thing missing are gas pumps and they will be set! Highly Recommend!
I tried Marvin’s because I was tired of fast food and wanted something quick and not deep fried. The place was really packed when I went in, but the line moved fast. The staff were friendly also.
You pick one meat (there was baked chicken & everything else was fish or pork) and two sides. There were lots of options—mashed potatoes, corn, broccoli, spaghetti, a cobbler dessert (which I think adds on a dollar), etc. You also get to choose between a roll or cornbread. They wrap the styrofoam plate in plastic wrap (which is nice for transport), write the price on top (~$9-10/plate without extras), and you take it with you to the front counter.
The rest of the place is a regular convenience store, with a few tables to eat on in the corner. It was pretty cramped and the tables were full so we took ours to go. The place was a bit pricey (most products didn’t actually have prices labeled though, which is a pet peeve of mine) but the food was good. It was a nice change from burgers/fries, and we were in and out quick despite the busyness. Lots of truckers were going through, and the location makes it a good place to stop if you’re traveling in or out of Memphis.
