Sunrise Memphis (East Memphis)

Utterly impressed!! The food is this tiny charming building is really really good! Vegetarian meals like the Best Omelette are impeccable. It is kid friendly if you’ve got a little. Peek in their open kitchen and the laser focus on preparing is insane. What makes it great though is the friendly and competent team that serve here. They work hard to give their guests a valued experience. Patient when we stand shell shocked trying to decide what meal to have. Kind when we want a tshirt, but our size not at that store. You aren’t just buying great food, you’re getting a memorable experience! Parking is tight so don’t race in.

Everything we got was delicious and well-priced. The grits were perfect and the scrambled eggs were fluffy and light. The atmosphere and staff were friendly; overall a great experience.

Very busy when we went, great staff, great service, amazing food. I highly recommend the biscuits with strawberry compote, they are all freshly made and delicious. The omelet was very good, and the French toast was standard, nothing good or bad about it.

Tasty breakfast food. Great prices. Great service. You order first and then find a table (plenty of tables to choose from). You grab your own drink and utensils (everything was quite clean). I liked the Sunrise sandwich. I added an egg to it. The sauce was great on it. The side tater tots is A LOT. The omelet is good. Its a lot of food. The only concern we had was everything was very salty! The biscuit was salty, the tater tots...everything.

Welcome to the neighborhood! East Memphis needed a good replacement for breakfast food. For my first of many future visits I went with The Dip and it was maybe one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a long time. Perfect proportions and the fries were surprising delicious with a little bit of seasoning. The food arrived quickly and was made to order - hot fries! The downtown location has a solid reputation and I’m thankful they moved into my neighborhood.

Breakfast is served all day. Parking is a little cramped and exiting to go west on Poplar is highly discouraged. People seem to find better luck parking down the street.

Update: Bi Bim maybe my new go-to. Ask for a side of Sriracha (not on the tables) and I’d caution about pouring all of the sauce they give you on top as it’s overwhelming.

Wishlist: outside dining. For a place named after the sun, I really wish they had outside dining to take in the sun.
