Blake’s BBQ

Simply put, there is no better BBQ in all of TN.

Blake knows what he is doing, and is darn good at it. Perfectly seasoned, tender, & well smoked meats. The sides and sauces hit the spot, as well. There is a lot of pride in the work and it is evident with the flavors. It is well worth the drive to Martin and I will come back again!

As a KCBS certified BBQ judge, I know good BBQ. I’m a Texas BBQ aficionado and Blake’s in Martin, TN is doing Texas BBQ proud. I’d imagine the folks in NW Tennessee have no idea just how lucky they are to have a young, passionate Pitmaster like Blake bringing a taste of beef to a usually pork-centric area. The brisket (the heart of Texas BBQ) was delightful, with a peppery bark that any Pitmaster would envy. The ribs were beautifully cooked with a lovely savory flavor, the seasoning not overpowering the meat. The beans and sausage were both solid and the mild and Alabama white sauces were nice. But the “kum back” sauce was an absolute star, a completely unexpected surprise that paired wonderfully with the brisket and ribs.
