ChangHong Spicy Hot Pot (长虹麻辣烫）

Malatang is a type of Chinese hot pot that originated in Sichuan province. It's a popular dish that can be found in many Chinese restaurants, so I am glad that one has opened in Franklin, TN. The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Our family had the chance to taste the mifei broth soup, which was flavorful and had a nice kick to it without being too spicy. There were 5-6 broth selections, and we picked the green pepper. We also tried the beef roll and beef noodle soup. The beef roll was delicious. The beef noodle soup can be further improved with less noodle and more soups. The restaurant was too generous on providing noodles for 2-3 people in a single bowl.

Our family didn't have the chance to taste the malatang ourselves, but it looked delicious from the table next to us. There was a good selection of meats, vegetables, and noodles to choose from, so I believe there was something for everyone. The condiment table had so many different sauces and spices to choose from, which allowed everyone to customize the flavor of their malatang to their liking.

Overall, I would highly recommend this malatang restaurant to anyone who is open-minded and looking for a flavorful and satisfying meal. We will be back to try the malatang next time!

Malatang is one of my favorite Chinese food, so I had high expectations before I went in, but this place did not disappoint, food was really authentic and delicious!

Love this hotpot spot. Their boba tea is really good! Self serve to the left by the pound pricing and counter service for all the other options. Water cups are small and seating is limited.

Try this spot if you come through Franklin.

This is a very unique restaurant in Nashville offering truly authentic Chinese food. The House Special rice noodle has an impressive presentation with small plates on a lovely bridge, along with a hot bowl. We love the cold noodle and the stewed pork burger, which is my favorite food from my hometown. Don’t forget to take photos of the unique food to show off, LOL.

Absolutely great food and seems to be authentic.

The Ambiance is ok, the service was excellent and very helpful to a newbie like me

The Hot pot stuff was absolutely fantastic, see the pics below, I tried two versions, one where you load your bowl and the fix you a bowl with the stuff you choose. I tried the spicy sour soup with that. Was absolutely fantastic. They called that a spice level 3 and it had a tiny amount of heat for me.

The second time I tried one of those big trays. I choose the beef. It comes with a literal ton of stuff, some I couldn't name, but all was great. Be aware that some of those things,though it is a beef dish, is fish based. Tell them if you don't want that. This was a gigantic portion. I am a big guy, I had no chance. Price wise I can't believe they make money on it. I forgot the white soup is bone broth! Fantastic flavors!
