We love McCrearys! Go there all the time. More often than any other pub in Franklin. Food is always great, servers are fantastic, and the Guiness is fabulous. What's not to like.
The food here is extremely good, and a good selection of drinks. Very attractive atmosphere, not too big. It's a cozy, welcoming little joint. Probably best pub around here. I cannot stress this enough, the Reuben is one of and possibly the best I've had. The staff is very friendly and even though it was busy I was well taken care of. I see a lot of complaints being it's small size. I see that as the absolute charm of this place. Its not a huge place with lots of space true, but the atmosphere is cozy, personal, and it shows in the quality of the food and service.
First off, this place is tiny! They have packed so many tables into this location you can barely move. The food selection looked fairly decent, but was rather lack luster for the price and location. I wouldn't go out of my way for this place, but I would throw it out for an option.
*** In response to the owner's comment:
My husband and I came in to the restaurant last weekend. He had the chicken pot pie dish (I think it was called something else) and the position size was like a cup of soup and the irish soda bread was cold. I had the fish and chips. The quality was good, but the coating on the fish lacked much of a flavor. The customer service was very good, but it is difficult to keep up as this place gets packed and there are too many tables for the location.
Like I said before, it's not a bad place to go, but I am not going to go out of my way to drive to this location when I know there is better out there.
Cool joint in downtown Franklin. Couple doing Celtic music set the mood. Pleasant staff and service. Food smelled and looked really good. Draft Irish beer assorted Irish whiskey. Nice play to meet up with friends and hang out.
Great friendly wait staff. Good food. Fabulous live music. Good any day of the week. Sunday brunch to Saturday dinner. Seating is tight on the weekends but often patrons will share a table. Definitely make sure that you come Friday and Saturday night for the live music by local Irish musicians including people from Belfast and other places in Ireland.
