The atmosphere here is amazing as are the food and drinks. I would encourage you to check out the bar out back. It's so beautiful. Also check out the music room for dinner or brunch. We also considered this as a wedding venue. Their events coordinator is unbelievable. He is so helpful and cheerful and works overtime to make sure you are comfortable. His experience put us at ease and his responsiveness and professionalism were encouraging. I'd recommend homestead for any of these services and for just being a pretty place.
My wife and I ate here last weekend, the service was prompt and delightful. My old fashioned was amazing, as was the salad, charcuterie board, and filet.
The atmosphere is almost a 10/10, but our anniversary dinner was constantly interrupted by spectators wishing to explore the house and view the interesting items displayed. I understand, as the place is really steeped in history, but the almost continuous stream of people walking by and talking loudly got old really quickly. The head chef was out, and this might explain why our food, for the price, wasn't that good. The biscuits were flat out bad and we didn't eat them. The brussel sprouts were pretty good but not great, and both our entree's were just OK. I'd really love to give them five stars, as the atmosphere and service was so great, but the other details really killed the mood for the evening. We are willing to give it another shot though, as it may have been an off night for them.
This is a very cozy spot to have dinner and drinks. A tour of the antique house is available. Tables are set up in each themed room. More dining is available in upstairs rooms, and also a large balcony, where there is comfy patio furniture and a porch swing. We brought our drinks to the balcony and enjoyed the fresh air. We ate in the sunroom bar beside the house, which is mostly glass with nice views. It offers the full menu, as well. Weddings are held on the property and parking was very full from wedding guests. The parking area is not paved and this place is kind of hard to spot while driving. Overall, the food menu did not have alot of options to choose from and was slightly pricey. They do make specialty cocktails. I tried three different ones and enjoyed each one.
This is one of the most unique places we've visited. You will be hard pressed to find a better night out. Our server Grace gave us an incredible tour and history of the property. We went with a group of four, there wasn't a bad bite of food to be had. The glass bar is an incredible place to lounge, or for something really incredible check into the chef's table in the basement. Do not miss out on this place.
