Great food and great service. Large portions
We would recommend the Diner. Stopped to try the fresh homecut french fries and burger. Both were very good. Glad we took a detour on our way to Tyler from Austin. We will do it again and try some of their other items. Chicken salad to Hub Chickenfried steak. Really a very good selection.
On Main street in downtown. The portions were huge on the main dish and the sides as well. Tea was very weak and not worth $2. We were able to watch the train go by from our table. Easy parking on side of building and out front. The stuffed and smothered burrito was great, it had good flavors. The smothered chopped steak was also very tasty. We had enough good food to take home for dinner.
As mentioned food from scratch when ordered. They seem to take great satisfaction in preparing the customer the best meal they can. I have found portions more than adequate. If $9.95 is too much for a super large baked potato covered in usual cheese, sour cream, butter, onions and pulled pork BBQ that other customers gasp at the size of then yes it's expensive. I think it's a great meal deal.
