Willie G's BBQ And Fish - Soul Food

Just ate there for the first time - the chicken & dumplings were delish. Also got the stuffed turkey legs and they were the bomb! Filled to overflowing with perfectly seasoned cajun rice, the turkey was very tender, and the portion was big. Ordered for 3 people and we are getting 2 meals each out of it - making it very economical. Absolutely will be going back soon. If you haven't been here, it's a must try if you are in Lufkin. Was very tempted to order the smothered pork chops which smelled divine and looked like they were cooked to perfection.

This place doesn't look like much from the road, but man-o-man was it good. Willie G's cooks up soul food classics (we had the ribs and beef tips and gravy), and its run by an energetic man who greets everyone enthusiastically, and calls out the order to the cooks. He seems like the heart of the place, and his energy is good. There's very little space to eat there, but the food and vibe are out of this world.

Absolutely fantastic barbecue and delicious home cooked sides. We stopped in for our first time on our way to Tyler today and plan to make this a regular stop. Very friendly people, clean little storefront, and again, absolutely fantastic barbecue. Ribs fell off the bone, beef tips and gravy were also amazing. Definitely recommend!
