495 Chesapeake Eats

The mac n cheese was THE BOMB. SO good. But honestly thats the only thing we'd go back for. The food was cooked well. Scallops, chicken, pasta was all on point but the flavor was very lacking.

The wood fire Ceasar salad was a head of lettuce on a plate. It was okay. The wood fire added a different flavor but not one I particularly would want again. The scallops were really fishy tasting. The sauce didn't stick to the pasta so lacked flavor but even the chicken lack flavor too.

The Angels and Demons drink was good and a unique taste. The Crush didn't seem strong enough.

The blackberry cheesecake was pretty good. The service was good and friendly. Everything seemed clean, except for a glass I got that had lipstick on it.

This place serves northeastern dishes and is about 35 min away from Corpus Christi. They serve the Maryland Jumbo Lump Crab Cake and wow, they blew me away because I never thought I going to find a near similar favorite crab cake taste here in Texas. I highly recommend the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake. Service is friendly and prompt too.

Service was excellent! Food was amazing I had the catch of the day which was Fresh AHI Tuna and I can’t explain how good it was because it was so good! And I’ve never had it before. But definitely will come back

Some of the best food ever. Portions are plentiful. Husband had the Maryland fried chicken that melted in m mouth when I tasted it. I had baked flounder that melted in my mouth too with a perfect creamy risotto. The owner, Chris, does some of the cooking and definitely knows what he is doing.

The best lesson when on vacation is to ask the locals for the best places to eat.... 495 was highly recommended by our hotel bartender and is now one of our favorites in Rockport!
Don’t let the casual atmosphere fool ya’ the food is top notch in every category. By far the best sea scallops I’ve ever had! Wood fire roasted and a flavor profile that will leave you wanting more. My biggest pet peave is a crab cake that’s all breading... well there was no breading in this delicious crab cake that was full of crab! Just can’t say enough... besides , don’t pass up the cheesecake with champagne sauce!
