Marini's Empanada Kitchen

We used to have these guys in Katy and it was a pleasant surprise to find them on the way home from a day hike. We saw the sign & my husband turned the truck around! Great latte & of course, the empanadas!

We're not big empanada consumers but this little place mad us realize we were missing out. We had the Texas BBQ, BBQ Chicken, Macaroni, Buffalo Chicken, and a spicy beef for the savory selections. Each one was very good but could have used a bit more seasoning. The sweet selections were Banana, Apple, Strawberry, Sweet Potatoe and pumpkin. Aside from my whole family looking like cocaine addicts from all of the powdered sugar, we really enjoyed this sweet options.

So traveling on 36 , and you miss Argentinan empanadas? No worries stop here and the same Marini family has you taken care of. We stopped in and spoke with the Grandson of the original owner from Houston. He is just as pleasant and welcoming. The shop is take-out only. But they do provide two cafe tables on the sidewalk. Where you get to enjoy the breeze and the occasional train.
The menu here is almost the same. He was missing the oinker and the Evita. But he had a substitute for the oinker and made the Evita off the menu for us. Also probably home of the fanciest espresso machine in the area. Yes they have the chimichuri sauce!
Will stop by every chance we get.

First we’re so excited that they are open! My husband and son had TX bbq, spicy pork, and cordon blue. They said they were very flavorful and enjoyed each one. I had the English and hot Tia Maria. The Tia M was very tasty. Perfect blend of flavors I’ll definitely get that one again. We also got some dessert empanadas (were stuffed, so we’ll try after we rest 😂)
