The Barton House

I am giving the Barton House a 3 star review because when we first walked in for lunch the Hostess ( a young heavy set Hispanic woman) was sitting in the front foyer talking on her cell phone, after a minute of my mom and I standing there she tells whoever she is talking to , to hold on a second then tells us she is the hostess but she is on her brake and gets back on the phone while my mom and I wait for 4 more minutes ( I was looking at my watch) before a waitress was walking by with several plates in her hand finally notices us and has us seated. The food was excellent and the wait staff was good. But the whole experience was ruined from a rude hostess who would not seat us because she was on her phone /break . A sign that says“ please seat yourself” would have been better than to have a Hostess up there sitting in the front on a phone that won’t help you.

The Barton House was a wonderful experience. The food and the atmosphere are just amazing. Check out Barton the cat . Our server Buhlea was excellent and very attentive. Wonderful place to eat if you get the chance.

Charming location old location. Food is excellent. The wine list seems extensive but I struck out twice by selecting a wine that they were "currently out of". Service was either extremely slow or the servicer forgot about us. We arrived about 10 min early to our 7:00 reservation. Entire dinner for 4 took 2:15. Probably not worth that kind of wait?

This place was delicious! The service was slow tonight it took awhile for everything to come out. You could tell servers were rushing around getting things done. However the food was great. I had the chicken fried steak and it was AMAZING!! My husband had the pork chops and they were delicious. Both our main meals were on point, j would even go as far as saying that chicken fried steak is the best I have had. The Chile macaroni was a total miss, it didnt have any flavor whatsoever. We had desert as well the wedding cake and it was so good. Great place nice interesting atmosphere but most of all delicious food!! I would say that during dinner time this isn't very family friendly. The rooms are small and echo and I can imagine having kids would be a pain. I do plan to come back!!
