Well, the food was great, just kinda bothered me how the waitress never checked on my table... or any table for that matter. The man sitting beside me was there before me yet didn't get served till about after my table got served, yet another group as soon as they got in got their drinks, and quickly after they got their food. So really it seems like your time of getting served varies (especially since my table didn't get our drinks till after 10 min we came in). Also there seemed to he no organization. Just over all service was basically non existent, and my burger was great just kept dripping grease.
One of my favorite places. Always great food and service. Our waitress Michelle is one of the best.
Catfish plate, 3 chicken fried steak plates,1 plate of bacon wrapped shrimp. Appetizers chili cheese fries, fried mushrooms an fried pickles. The best in service an food was great. Quick service waitress was on top of taking care of our table of 6.
Old Jody's has been a staple in Temple as long as I can remember. The wait staff is always friendly. The food is pretty damn good. Best kept secret for the locals.
I had an hour and a half till my VA appointment. So I rode my scooter to Old Jody's. I've been here with my wife, but since time was limited, I decided to go alone.
I had a Jody's cheeseburger with and egg on it and fries. The coffee was strong and hot. Just how I like it. When the food came, it was so good that I told my waitress that I wanted to yell out, 'This is the best damn cheeseburger I've had in a long time.'
The chicken fried steak is what I usually have. The are the biggest and tastiest, but I wasn't with my wife and time was an issue.
If you want to go somewhere that has been here a while and has great food? Your best bet is Old Jody's. The new one across the street is good, but the original location lives up to its name.
Enjoy it.
