Hidden BBQ restaurant in a weird location. Ramshackle old wooden building is in contrast to a nicely updated comfortable interior. This is not a meat market, but an actual restaurant with table service. Food is served as a plate (meat + 2 sides) with a drink for about $12.

I ordered the brisket plate, my wife ordered the pork ribs, and we split an order of chicken wings (sharing all with our young son). The brisket was fall-apart tender with a beautiful smoke ring. I wasn't a huge fan of their bbq sauce, which couldn't make up its mind whether to be sweet or spicy. Fortunately the ribs had a very flavorful dry rub and didn't need sauce (neither did the brisket). The chicken wings arrived hot, but my wife sent them back to get them crisper. All meats were so "fall off the bone" that I suspected them of being partially steamed in a slow cooker, but I didn't taste that tell-tale watered down flavor of steamed meat, just smoke.

The sides we had were all perfect examples of Texas BBQ classics. Potato salad had toothsome bites of potatoes, not under or overcooked, coleslaw was crisp and peppery and not drowned in mayonnaise. Fries were crispy and big, creamed corn was tasty and not mushy. Will try the beans next time. Everything served with standard pickles, onions, and bread.

Service was super friendly, especially for a one-man-show (Pirooz cooked and served for us, apparently the other guy didn't show up for lunch shift on a Sunday). This restaurant kept the same name, but has been open under new ownership for about a year. After years of seeing this dodgy looking building next to the nearly defunct Wonderland mall, we finally decided to give it a try (mostly because they were open on a Sunday afternoon) and we're sure glad we did.

Ordered to go. Wait wasn't as long as I thought it would be. The guy working there was very friendly. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the air conditioner is probably on high because it was a very cool and comfortable temperature, especially compared to outside.

Got the ribs and they were good! Fall off the bone! We also got the marbled brisket and that was so tender that it would break apart sometimes. Sausage was good. The fries were good and the coleslaw was better then expected. I don't usually eat coleslaw so I got the 8oz for just my wife, but it was really good and she got mad because I ate most of it, lol. We also got the garlic cheese bread, that was enjoyable as well. Maybe they could offer a marinara sauce for dipping.

Meat is so tender it melts in your mouth. Potato salad & cream corn are excellent by itselves & so were the green beans. The seasoning make everything taste so exotic but you can't distinguish those spices. Fantastic flavors!
