Jim's Restaurant

This isn't our usual Jim's, but we decided to stop by after church. It was a full house, but we were still greeted promptly. Food came out fast, hot, and with no mistakes.

My elderly father loves this place! The staff sees him only for a few months in the winter. But treat him as family and keep contact even when he returns home. Food is great and very family-friendly.

Good selection of hearty comfort foods. The restaurant could use a facelift though. It seems that it was built and then minimally maintained.

The staff was friendly, the door was hot and correct. We will likely visit again.

Jim’s Restaurants have been around forever and this is reflected in their mid 20th century architecture on both the outside and inside. I had wanted to set to rest a rumor I had heard that they served great chili cheeseburgers, a rarity nowadays for some reason. So, it being a chilly day with intermittent misting rain, I thought this is the place to go for lunch.

I was not disappointed in the comforting and familiar atmosphere. Some of the waitresses have been around a long time and they run the dining room like a tight ship. The food arrived promptly and was nice and hot. Thankfully there were a lot of napkins to absorb the chili that threatened to drip all over the place. Not a bad thing.

I would describe this restaurant as a coffee shop plus. There is a full range of dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner that seem to be prepared expertly by a cheerful kitchen crew whom a diner can hear laughing through the pass window.

This particular restaurant is located just off a busy interstate and provides easy access on and off. I would recommend to anybody who needs a quick and satisfying meal before they go on their way.
