If you leave here hungry, it's your fault. Tried the brisket, jalapeno sausage and baby back ribs with a side of sweet potato casserole and collard greens. LOVED EVERY BITE! I can't wait to come back and try more!
Really Good Food!
I had a bit of a wait for another matter in the area and decided to have dinner here. I had heard of the restaurant but never made it in. You are not going to get heaping servings and I wasn't expecting that but decent for the price. Seating can be a challenge depending on the time of day you arrive. The staff was A1 especially Sonya. I'm not originally from Texas so my brisket expertise isn't that varied but they are clearly top notch in my book.
Fantastic BBQ, get the rib tips. One of the few places in San Antonio that treats pork with the same loving care that everyone else gives brisket. The rib tips are the burnt ends of the pork rib world and are delicious with one of the home made sauces, my preference is the mustard based sauce. Pair that with a jalapeno sausage link and an iced tea and you have a lunch that is hard to beat. Their sides are really good, and the banana pudding for desert is the icing on the cake.
It was delicious. The staff was very helpful and polite and it didn't take them anytime to prepare my order. I really enjoyed the food. The brisket was moist and the portions were precise. The rib tips were delicious as well. Again this place is highly recommended if you like good "fall off the bone" barbecue.
Good variety of BBQ meats. Try the rib tips...nearly boneless with a good bit of meat. Turkey was very juicy and tender. The brisket was well smoked, tender and tasty. The location looked well managed. However seating is somewhat limited and in some places crowded. Outdoor seating is ample though not much scenery to enjoy. I hear there is live music on occasion. Overall this time was much better than my first visit.
